Roy is originally from Bemidji, MN, where he spent his childhood skiing and winter camping. He graduated from Harvard College in 2009 and subsequently worked as a software engineer for a financial services firm. Roy first became involved in BodySpec when his wife Elaine helped launch the company as part of her MBA graduate thesis project, and has stayed involved in an increasing capacity since.
Roy enjoys weightlifting but mostly appreciates the resting between sets. He also likes eating, napping and being as stationary as possible to serve as an activity-level counterweight to his BodySpec teammates.
Jason combines a passion for athletics with singular expertise in engineering to help design and oversee BodySpec's mobile scanning trucks. Originally from Seattle, WA, Jason graduated from the Air Force Academy in 2008 and was the captain of the All-Armed Forces Soccer Team.
Jason is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and also holds a Master's in Engineering Management from USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Prior to BodySpec, Jason co-founded and operated Nu Era Fitness, a fitness equipment retailer. In addition to soccer, CrossFit, and donuts, Jason enjoys world travel, having visited over 20 countries.
Following a singularly unathletic childhood, Elaine graduated from Harvard College in 2009 before working for a non-profit organization helping blind children. Her interest in health and fitness was only ignited in the desperate six months prior to her wedding, but has been maintained (so far) thereafter, in part due to her work with BodySpec.
Originally from New York, NY, Elaine holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Currently based in Austin, TX, she attempts to balance her abiding love of simple carbohydrates with weightlifting and the occasional hill sprint. She also greatly enjoys being a mom to her and Roy’s children - one human and two canine.
Originally from Bowie, Maryland, Erin grew up a competitive swimmer and later in life turned to distance running, which she continues to enjoy. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Fitness. Outside of work, Erin keeps busy chasing after her young twins, toddler, and two dogs.
Erin has over ten years of experience as a Fitness and Athletic Director. She is a Certified Personal Trainer and Masters Swimming Coach and also spent time as an instructor for Personal Trainers. Along with her professional training, fitness management, coaching, and leadership background, Erin has a passion for health and fitness, including the impact which it can bring to an individual. All of her experiences have contributed to her holistic approach to healthy living.
Originally from New Brunswick, Canada, Leigh Ann grew up on a farm in a village of less than 100 people. Her pursuits as a youth included air pistol shooting, in which she competed at the national level, as well as various volunteer activities within her community. She also participated in many different team sports, which cemented her lifelong sports fandom! (Go Nationals, Capitals, Mystics, DC United, and Redskins!!)
She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, and spent much of her early career managing fitness programs before making a shift to personal training to spend more time one-on-one with clients. While she particularly enjoys working with older adults and the disabled, Leigh Ann believes in being a cheerleader for all people, helping them succeed at their goals. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and photographer, and enjoys spending time with family and her dog, Quinton.
