Did you know that average person consumes over 3000 calories during Thanksgiving dinner? Here at BodySpec, we love Thanksgiving as much as anyone. But just because the holidays are here doesn't mean it’s time to lose complete sight of your health.

Luckily, we've got a few tips to help you stay healthy this week, but that will still let you enjoy Thanksgiving dinner!

1. Exercise in the days before Thanksgiving – or the morning of! Even better – make it a family activity. You'll feel better, more energetic, and less guilty about Thanksgiving dinner.

2. Don't skip breakfast and lunch! Starving yourself to make room for later will just cause you to overeat during the actual Thanksgiving dinner. Rather, try to have a protein-based breakfast and snacks throughout the day to keep you satiated.

3. During dinner itself, fill your table and your plate with healthy veggie sides. Aim for a colorful plate – get lots of leafy greens, beets, carrots, bell peppers, and other healthy vegetable-based dishes that will help fill you up!

Eat your veggies first, then the protein, then the high-calorie carbohydrates, to help ensure that your meal is as high-quality in nutrients as possible. Choose water over wine over other sugary, alcoholic beverages. And savor every bite!

4. Enjoy talking and spending time with your family and friends. While Thanksgiving dinner is an important part of the holiday, the main event should be about spending quality time with loved ones, not just what’s on the table!

BodySpec wishes you and all your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving! We also want to thank each and every one of our clients and partners for an amazing first year!
